Offline imposition software for printers. Install it and try it on your own job — a licence is only needed for press-ready PDF output.

How it works
Fitting a job onto a sheet is arithmetic done under time pressure: how many out, which way round, what the grip and the bleed take away, what the folding imposes. Done by eye it costs paper; done twice it costs a shift. JUPITER works it out from the measurements and shows the layout it chose.
The file is checked before it goes anywhere near the press — bleed, resolution, colour, fonts — and the output carries the cutting diagram and the job sheet with it, so what leaves the office and what happens at the cutter are the same plan.

Label / business card
126 cards on the sheet size that wastes least, with the trim marks and the gripper edge in place.
Repeat work: one design, as many up as the sheet takes. The sheet that wastes least is chosen for you, the block is laid with the gripper edge and the trim marks in place, and the run is costed on the same screen.
The die is read out of the customer's own file — panels, cut and crease. The folding preview is computed from the die's own crease angles, so what folds on screen is what the knife will make. The die goes back out as a 1:1 PDF with cut and crease as separate spot colours.
Saddle stitch or perfect binding, 8 to 32 pages on a signature. Page order, fold lines and creep come out of the binding, and the folding preview walks the sheet fold by fold so you can check the order before the plate. If the file carries no folios, JUPITER prints them itself — turned with the page, not with the sheet.
Digital has no gripper and the cost is counted in clicks. The sheet that finishes the run with the fewest clicks is picked, an equal non-printable strip is kept on all four edges, and the sheet count comes with the waste already in it.
The same job comes back: print last year's business card again. The archive keeps the shop's own decisions — margins, layout, press, binding — and the reports add those same records up at the end of the month: how many jobs went out, how much paper went with them, which press ran how much.
Your own letterhead on every quote and every sheet: name, logo, the terms you print under each price, and the slug that tells the operator which sheet is in their hand.
What it does
Imposition in the shop's own language
JUPITER is not a drawing program. It knows the gripper edge, the creep, the click cost and the crease angle of a die — and it works with the network cable pulled out. Everything below is in the program itself, not an add-on.
Six modules, one program
Sheet cutting, label and business card, signature imposition, carton and dieline, digital printing, gang run. The same job file, the same machine profile and the same costing run through all of them.
The sheet is chosen, not guessed
Every stock size the press can take is ranked by the paper each piece costs — not by how many fit. The sheet that yields the most pieces is almost never the cheapest one, and the table says so.
The die comes from the file
Load the customer's carton file and the panels, the cut and the crease come out of it. The 3D folding preview is built from the die's own crease angles, so it folds the way the knife will fold it.
Folding you can check
The signature folding preview walks the sheet fold by fold: which page faces up at each step, how many leaves thick the stack is, which cells end up head-down. The page order is checked before the plate, not after the fold.
Page numbers, printed right
If the file carries no folios, the imposition prints them. The number turns with its own page — half the pages on a signature sit upside down, and a number set to the sheet would print head-down through half the book.
Preflight before the plate
Bleed, resolution, colour space and fonts are read out of the incoming PDF. What must be fixed is separated from what is merely worth knowing — the panel states the facts, the decision stays with the shop.
Missing bleed, generated
A file that arrives trimmed to size does not go back to the designer. The bleed is grown out of the artwork's own edge and the imposition then pulls a bleed that really exists in the file.
Output that goes to plate
PDF/X with the ICC profile picked from your own machine. Marks print in register colour so they appear on every plate; cut and crease are written as separate spot colours. A file that does not meet the standard is not stamped with it — the blockers are listed instead.
Your presses, your margins
Press profiles carry the maximum print area, the gripper and the tail margin. Catalogue figures are marked as catalogue figures: the program says out loud that they should be measured on your own press before going to plate.
The cost, while you lay it out
Paper by the kilo, plates by the piece, impressions, make-ready — and the unit price, recalculated as you change the sheet. The quote and the operator sheet come out of the same numbers.
The archive keeps decisions
"Print last year's business card again" is one click. The archive stores the inputs, not the finished imposition, and it keeps the path to the PDF rather than a copy: the customer may have updated the file, and the current one is what gets printed.
The month adds itself up
The three questions asked at the end of every month — how many jobs went out, how much paper went with them, which press ran how much — are added up from the archived jobs. The figures are frozen at the moment the job was archived: changing a unit price today does not change last month's turnover.
Offline, and it stays offline
No cloud, no account, no upload. The job file never leaves the shop's own machine, and the program runs with the network cable pulled out. The licence is issued to the computer it runs on.

What the licence opens
The file that goes to the press. With a licence the imposition, the cutting diagram and the operator sheet are written out unmarked — PDF/X, with the ICC profile picked from your own machine. Without one the program stops at exactly this step: the figures stay on screen, the file is not written.

How the licence reaches you
By hand, and on purpose: the signing key never leaves this office, so no server anywhere can issue a licence for your computer.

No account, no sign-up. Imposition, diagrams, preflight and cost all run without a licence; output is the only thing that is closed.

Send us the machine code
Settings → Licence shows a short code for that computer. Write to us with it and say whether you want the trial or the full licence.

The licence file arrives by e-mail
Once the card payment is approved: a few kilobytes issued to that computer, with the invoice beside it. The 14-day trial produces real output with DENEME struck across it — a trial file must not reach the press unnoticed.
